Incucyte® Nuclight Rapid Red Dye is formulated explicitly for labeling living mammalian cells. The dye is cell-permeable, which specifically stains DNA in the cell nucleus and is adapted for real-time quantification. A simple procedure for simple quantification and analysis.
Features
- unique and consistent labeling of cells
- at optimized concentrations, the dye does not interfere with cell growth and morphology
- DNA labeling of dead cells compared to live cells has distinctly different fluorescent intensities, which allows for a true kinetic index of cell death
- suitable for mixing, real-time cell counting
Application
- cell proliferation studies for true number of nuclei
- quantification of apoptosis and cytotoxicity when multiplexed with Incucyte® Cell Health Reagents
Storage and stability
Incucyte® Nuclight Rapid Red Dye is supplied as a single vial (50 µL) in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), with each vial providing sufficient volume to perform 100-200 tests (1 test = 1 well of a 96-well microtiter plate). Upon receipt, the solution should be stored at 4°C. If stored as described, the solutions will be stable for at least 12 months.
Recommended use
We recommend optimizing Incucyte® Nuclight Rapid Red Dye for each cell line tested by diluting the reagent in growth medium (final dilutions of 1:250, 1:500, 1:1000, 1:2000 and 1:4000) and adding it directly to cells in culture . Immediately after addition, cells are labeled with Nuclight Rapid Red Dye. When used in the Incucyte® device, we recommend collecting data every 2-3 hours.
